Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Bandeoke collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Session data — when you submit a song request we collect your first name, last name, a unique guest identifier stored locally in your browser, your chosen song(s), and (optionally) your WhatsApp number so we can let you know when you are up.

Marketing data — if you opt in to updates or enter the prize draw, we additionally store your email address, name and (if provided) your WhatsApp number so we can contact you outside of the live session about future events and promotions.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to run the live event queue and to contact you about your turn through the following channels:

  • In-app — live queue position, on-screen prompts, toasts (pop ups on screen) and short device vibrations on the page you have open.
  • WhatsApp — queue updates and song status messages. If you have consented to marketing, the host venue may also send you a limited number of messages about future events. Only if you provide a WhatsApp number.
  • Email — updates, marketing and prize-draw notifications, only if you opt in.

During the session, the host venue can send updates to anyone who has opted in to receive queue updates. If you have also consented to marketing, they can send a limited number of messages about future events.

We never use your WhatsApp number for any other purpose and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Our legal bases under UK GDPR are legitimate interest for running the queue and notifying you of your turn, and consent for marketing and prize-draw communications.

3. Data Storage & Sharing

Your data is stored in our backend database, encrypted in transit, and is only accessible to authorised event hosts and Bandeoke administrators. We use trusted service providers to host the application and to deliver WhatsApp and email messages on our behalf; they may only process your data to provide those services. Your WhatsApp number and email are never shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

Session-only data — if you only provided your details for the live session (name, guest identifier, WhatsApp number, song submissions and queue history), this is deleted 24 hours after the session ends.

Mailing list & updates — if you asked to be added to our mailing list or to receive updates, we keep your email and name until you unsubscribe, or until we have had no engagement from you for 24 months, whichever happens first.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to remember your guest identity and song submission codes between sessions. No tracking cookies are used.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent for marketing at any time, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability.

You can clear data held locally on your device at any time by tapping "Not you? Clear" in the app footer. To exercise any other right, email us at hello@bandeoke.app.
